Education and Experience
Dr. Ashley Daniels grew up in Ankeny and attended Iowa State University for undergrad. It was during her time at ISU that she first became interested in pediatric dentistry, and actually spent a day job shadowing at Ankeny Children’s Dental which solidified her decision to apply to dental school after enjoying the day so much! After earning her doctorate at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Dr. Ashley continued her education at the University of Florida to become a specialist in pediatric dentistry, where she was asked to serve as Chief Resident. During her residency program, Dr. Ashley received extensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry including restorative dentistry, dental trauma, hospital dentistry, minimally invasive techniques, and dentistry for individuals with special health care needs. She has been very active in research and evidence-based dentistry, and published an article in the Pediatric Dentistry Journal as the lead author in 2020.
As much as Dr. Ashley enjoyed the sunny weather in Florida, she ultimately decided to return home to Iowa to be closer to family. Dr. Ashley has spent the last 3.5 years working at a dental office in West Des Moines, but is excited to make the move back to her hometown.
As a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Ashley is committed to constantly expanding her knowledge and understanding of her specialty. Each year she completes many hours of continuing education specific to pediatric dentistry in order to remain at the forefront of evidence-based dental care.

Beyond the Practice
Outside of the office, Dr. Ashley and her husband, Collin, stay busy chasing around their two young boys, Theo and Harrison. They enjoy being outside, hosting board game nights, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones!
